Artist Statement
My mission as an artist is to capture details of God's creation that brings joy and peace to the viewer.
I like capturing nature and still life with the use of pencil. Pencil suites me well since I am a detailed oriented person who loves contrast. When viewing pencil art I feel the depth of the scene I am capturing.
I like to draw from photos I have taken. The end image is either a replica of a single photo or a combination of photos.
Pencil may be my favorite medium but at times I like to step out of my comfort zone and capture in acrylic and pastels. I also love to add a touch of red to my pencil drawing to add a dramatic effect.
What I gain from my art is to step away from the complexity of life events to a world of simplicity that puts me in a calming mood.
